Issaquah wants to negotiate a new EFR funding model with Sammamish:
“Issaquah is strongly committed to Eastside Fire & Rescue and doesn’t want to see Sammamish drop out of that regional fire service and leave. I believe that we can reach an agreement in a timely manner and would hope Sammamish would delay any decision…
I want to thank the fire fighters for their offer and as a last resort, if we cannot reach agreement, then I believe we should enter into mediation and take them upon their offer.”

Residents, firefighters, news media and others invested in the City of Sammamish fire issue are strongly encouraged to attend the Sammamish City Council meeting TONIGHT at 6:30 pm.
If you are unable to attend, email council members now and urge them to delay their decision to leave EFR and get to work with Issaquah.
